This policy explains what information RichardByrom.com (richardbyrom.com) collects when you visit, and how it is used. The site is run by Richard Byrom, based in Kent, UK, who is the data controller. You can reach me through the contact page.
What I collect
Contact form and comments. If you use the contact form or leave a comment, I receive what you enter, such as your name, email address and message, along with your IP address. I use this only to reply to you or to run the comments.
Analytics. The site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, your approximate location and your device type.
Server logs. The hosting provider, Hostinger, keeps standard logs, including IP addresses, to keep the site secure and running.
Advertising
The site shows ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, to limit how often you see them and to measure how they perform. With your consent, they may also personalise ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can read how Google uses this information at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services, and turn off personalised ads in Google’s Ad Settings.
Your choices
Visitors from the UK, the EEA and Switzerland are asked for their consent before these cookies are used for advertising. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may then not work as expected.
Sharing your information
I do not sell your personal information. It is shared only with the service providers named above, and they may process it outside the UK.
How long I keep it
I keep messages and comments for as long as they are useful for the reason you sent them, and you can ask me to delete them at any time.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information I hold about you, or object to how I use it. To do so, use the contact page. If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Changes
I may update this policy from time to time. This version was last updated in November 2026.
